Distorted Bucharest
Distorted Bucharest was a personal photography project born out of a need to see the city differently.
I didn’t give too many directions. I just looked, and they looked back. Somewhere between that stillness and their unspoken thoughts, something real appeared.
Shot in Bucharest over a period of time, the series moves away from a clear or descriptive view of the city. Instead, it focuses on moments where things break, overlap, or become unclear. Reflections, motion, and layers are not used as effects, but as a way of observing what is already there.
I wasn’t trying to document Bucharest as it is. I was more interested in how it feels when things stop being stable or easy to read. Familiar places start to shift, and the image becomes less about accuracy and more about perception.
Most of the photographs came from simply reacting to the city. Light hitting glass, people passing, small moments that would usually go unnoticed.
