A portrait session should feel like a good experience

Being photographed can feel strange, especially if you are not used to being in front of a camera.

I will guide you through the session, help with posing when needed and keep an eye on the small things that make a photograph work. You do not need to know what to do with your hands or how to pose before you arrive.

We can keep things simple or experiment with the location, light, movement and styling, depending on what you have in mind.

How I approach a portrait

I usually start with the person rather than a fixed set of poses.

We talk about what you need from the photographs, where they will be used and what kind of images you like. From there, I take care of the lighting, composition and direction during the session.

Some portraits are quiet and straightforward. Others become more experimental as we work. I like leaving enough space for that to happen naturally.

How it works?

Tell me what you need: Send me a message with a little information about the session, what you need the photographs for and when you would like to shoot.

We figure out the details: We choose the location, discuss outfits and decide on the general direction of the session. If you already have references, send them over.

We shoot: Most portrait sessions take around 1 to 2 hours. I will guide you throughout the shoot and make adjustments as we go.

I edit the final photographs: After the session, I select and professionally edit the final images. The photographs are delivered digitally within a few days, depending on the project.
